But if you did not vote you should not complain, according to candidate Nancy Bommelman. WHAT BULLSHIT
Did it make any difference in the previous 100 elections for Mayor for the people who did vote?
We now have Shaun Sipma for Mayor, Sipma with Make Minot got the city council overhauled and got him and Josh Wolsky on the city council.

Has anything changed, yes it has the people of Minot have even less of a voice in city Government.
What exactly is Sipma going to do, with debt up to his eyeballs and unfunded liabilities and John Hoeven calling the shots, Good Luck.
Voting at this level doesn't work, and Bommelman is right complaining will get you no where when voting in Minot level elections.
For it was Hoeven and his Mayor Zimbelman and his Cypress buddy Steve Larson who got the whole parking ramp debacle rolling.
Minot has a flood and Trinity needs a new medical center and they take the money from the FED and build parking ramps.
Nobody got a vote on that one, all that FED money that was supposed to renew the damaged citizens of Minot and it went into
every Tom, Dick and Harry development that walked in the door. Most of them now being sued for failure.
Instead of working with Trinity to build downtown and really create some growth and long term jobs, now with Trinity supposedly
building on the extreme south edge of town, with the threat that the city landfill will be there new neighbor. Downtown will be left with empty
buildings and debt ridden parking ramps. As the Dakota Square Mall looses its anchor stores because in reality it is cheaper to shop online instead
of paying bloated sales taxes. Even now you even have Home Depot Making a Major Move into online shopping. They are to build some
170 quick delivery warehouses. As of 2017 Steve Larson, Cypress Guy, Was Ousted from SureID and the company is suffering.

are talking on their phones and one in the hole. There are so many things wrong with this city. It’s just not Minot, don’t get me wrong, it’s in every
city in America. One person can’t fix everything. We need to speak up, we need to get involved and we need to make a difference.
Well how can you complain if you don't vote, according to you, according to City Manager Tom Barry all the extra guys on their phones
are there to make sure it gets done quickly, didn't you know that? Barry believes everybody to know that!

When you complain to the city manager or a city department, You Get Nothing.
When you are tailgated by a city bus and it is speeding. You get a line of crap that it was and there is no way it could be speeding. You get nothing.
When you complain about why it takes 15 guys to dig up a water main break and the water was off for 15 hours,
and they don't even clean up the street.You get nothing.
When you ask why some 10 fire trucks and police are at a accident site and no one bothers to direct traffic. You get nothing.
When your involved in a traffic accident and the responding officer does not write the other guy a ticket for no proof of insurance.
When all he has is a business card that he writes on that he is insured by First Western Bank, which is owned by John Hoeven.
You end up paying the deductible, because the uninsured guy was in the wrong and the city looses the fine for no insurance. You get nothing.
When you call to ask why your garbage can was not emptyed and you get our video shows it was emptyed.
Then why is it sitting here still full of garbage? You get nothing.
When the street sweeper for years doesn't come down your street, then in 2018 it has been down the street 8 to 10 times!
Every time going around the abandoned vehicle sitting in mud and rocks from the water pipe repair. Now that is great management.

If you read the letter above from Nancy Bommelman - Minot Is Headed Toward Change - she speaks of to many building inspectors! Which of course there is not.
Actually as dead as things are in Minot, you could get by with one or two inspectors. 82 permits in 2017 at 260 days leaves 3.1 days per permit

Council Person Josh Wolsky has written a response to that letter and the city budget.
At the end of that letter he makes the statement " There's nothing we can do about how we got here".

Looking at the budget's, health care and pensions are eating you alive. Find a way to rein them in. Hire more street cops and enforce traffic laws for revenue.
Cut the pay to administrators. They don't like it, let them leave. Tell your city employees to stop hot roding city buses and trucks.
All day long you see them, jack rabbit, jack rabbit, jack rabbit. Imagine all the fuel they waste being Johnny Hot Rod. Turn off the lights at the airport.
Turn off half the street lights on main roads. Install street lights in the dark, dark, hoods that have never had them.
